Future Stages #4: Fuck Up Friday

“Oh shit. I fucked up!” A creative process is full of mistakes that we like to forget quickly. Ok, but not today. Ulrike Quade company, Performance Technology Lab, Likeminds and Innovation:Lab van Theater Utrecht present: Future Stages #4: Fuck Up Friday, where performing arts professionals share fuckups so that you can learn from it.

Where people make art with technology, mistakes arise, bugs appear, mistakes are made and whole chunks of research turn out to be useless. And that’s all fine, better yet, it’s necessary. But what this sector doesn’t do very often is share these fuck-ups with the world. We’d rather keep them hidden. Understandable, but not useful when the entire theaterbranche is experimenting with advanced software, robotics, VR techniques, mo-cap suits, game engines and so on. That’s why we want to invite you to our safe space, a space where we can share our fuck-ups and what we learned from them. Not just because it’s nice to by-pass some errors, but also because it’s important that artists tell a whole spectrum of stories about technology, not just the myths of flawlessness. So we can all learn together. Grab your tissues, be vulnerable, and come listen, share and drink a beer afterwards.

The full program will be announced, the moderation will be in the hands of the tech dramaturg of Ulrike Quade Company, Marijke Hessels. The session is in English, and afterwards the bar will be open.
